Gluing glass together can be a challenge because many types of glue will not bond to its smooth, non-porous surface. Even some super glues will not adhere to glass. A specialty glass repair glue is best for repairing small items and household goods such as wine glass stems, knick-knacks, and other indoor items. Choose one that dries clear, works with all types of glass, and is dishwasher safe.

Here are the basic steps to glue glass with a glass adhesive. Using epoxy is similar but remember the additional step of mixing the two parts of the epoxy on a disposable surface before you begin.
Cleaning up excess adhesive: if you have a drip or run of excess glue as you are working, a damp cloth is usually all you need to wipe it away. Cured adhesives can be carefully scraped away with a razor, then use acetone to remove the remaining residue.
